Community Radio

“Community Radio provides access and an opportunity for participation by ordinary community members who would otherwise have no real or recognised input into the cultural life of their communities.”

Tem Fm Community Radio is a type of radio service that caters to the interests of a certain area, broadcasting material that is popular to a local audience but is overlooked by more powerful broadcast

Community radio offers the listening public access to a more diverse range of music, information, news and views than would otherwise be available from commercial or government-based stations. It also provides communities with locally-produced content that is immediately relevant to their daily lives. It allows individuals and community groups to participate in producing their own programs and to maintain their local culture. It also fulfils an important role in providing basic media training for over 7,000 Australians annually. Community radio encourages participation in all aspects of running a radio station from scheduling and producing programs to administration and fundraising.

How it works

Tem Fm Community Radio is run by the community for the community.

That means we rely on lots of volunteers to do lots of things to help us put the station to air and to keep it running.  An elected Board of Directors is responsible for the overall operation of the station, but the real work is done by numerous committees which put forward ideas and recommendations to the Board.

There is no age limit to those involved and we try to ensure we only ask you to do as much as is convenient to you

TEMFM 102.5 broadcasts a wide range of programmes including:

  • Air News
  • National news and current affairs
  • Community information
  • Various music programmes from all genres of music

Community Involvement

Almost all programming is produced by people who live in the local community.

Their aim is to inform and entertain the people of the Temora and surrounding District
